Any column can have a subtotal in XpandedReports. There is also a choice of "none" if a specific column should be excluded from the calculation. Multiple totals are available. Both Sum and Average, for example can be displayed on the report. The same choices are available for subtotals as well as the grand totals.

Subtotals can only be added to reports with groups (see Grouping).

Insert subtotal

The following is inserting a subtotals into a detail report.

• Right-click on the column in which you want the subtotal to appear.
• Select “Group”.
• Right-click again on the same column and select “Add/Remove Subtotals”.

Modify subtotals

In any report that includes grouping, you can select from a number of different subtotal options.

• Right-click on the column header for the column to be changed
  
• Choose “Add/Remove Subtotals”.
  
• If “Automatic” option is elected, un-select the “Automatic” option.
• Select the alternative subtotaling option that best fits your needs.
  
• The available options are as follows: Sum, Max, Min, Average, Var, StdDev, and Count
